Real stories from actual restaurants and cafés: they knew they needed to change a few things to boost their bottom line and ... it wasn't their cooking!

Uber Eats in Windsor

I recently photographed food for a few restaurants, eateries and cafes in Windsor for Uber Eats app that was recently launched in Windsor. It was fun and at times challenging work but I hope the results are well worth it! I present here a few of the hero images of different cuisines and colourful styles that I hope will catch your eye and will make you want to reach out to me and schedule a meeting to talk about your on-line menu makeover. I will be happy to work with you to create new and vibrant food photography for your business.

Restaurant "Mazaar"

Recent photo shoot for an upscale-casual restaurant in Windsor that offers authentic Lebanese cuisine. I shot an extensive menu of wide variety of fresh Lebanese entrees, salads and appetizers. The restaurant was looking to re-fresh their menu to reflect the freshness and colourful flavour of their dishes. The shoot was done on a white background, with professional lighting to bring out the texture and character of the most popular meat and vegetarian menu items. All dishes were prepared and carefully styled by the restaurant’s chef so I could capture each dish in its authentic and most appealing way. Post-production included full retouch.

Restaurant "Ocean Grill"

Seafood and ocean theme got me thinking of distance shores… This venue had a very clear idea of how they wanted to revamp their menu and on-line presence as they were doing a total menu overhaul and needed fresh and enticing images. Their tastefully arranged, colourful, delicious and full of character dishes needed extra lighting (it was a full-day photo shoot, so relying on natural light only was risky).  The food stylist and I carefully staged each shot to convey a certain mood and not be overly pompous.  I absolutely loved working with a very dedicated crew and kitchen staff, this was truly a team effort, and I think it shows in the final images.

Pastry and Bakery "Razdolie"

After continuously losing customers to a bigger (but not necessarily better!) grocery store next door, this small bakery decided to finally invest in quality photography to display their desserts on-line and to start a new image-driven marketing campaign with some printed ads and creative social networking initiatives. Needless to say, this small, family-owned bakery quickly found its client base and increased profits. Long live the photo of a scrumptious chocolate cake!

Restaurant "Kalinka-Malinka"

They tried it a DIY-style by using some stock images with similarly looking dishes, but pretty soon realized that it wouldn't work. I spoke with the manager and we discussed their planned menu layout and what images they needed for their printed promotional flyers as well. We agreed on a price and I did a series of on-location photo shoots and optimized final images, both for print and web, which lowered the total cost by roughly 50%. The restaurant is now enjoying an increased number of happy customers many of whom have become regulars: they are now 100% sure that they will get served exactly what they see on the menu.

Café-Bar "Karpaty"

Rebranding was tough for this small café but the owner was set on getting the new menu and a website too! I assisted both with the design for their menu and did food photos for all their dishes. The images were also used for several print advertising mailers, as well as an oversized outdoor sign. I also helped the owner to create a basic website and optimized all images for on-line and print use. The café was able to increase the number of customers within weeks after the new on-line menu was released!

Your Secret Ingredient of Success

You may need just a few clean and very well-defined shots for your on-line menu, but sometimes your business demands a more complex approach to the overall visual presentation of your entire venue's style: your offline marketing initiatives and on-line social networking need a unified and consistent visual message throughout. And quality food photography plays a key part. That is where we come in to help you feature, maintain and strengthen your brand.
Just like the clients whose stories you will read below, you may have a limited budget to start with your menu image revamping or to add new items to the menu. Well, we are here for the long-haul because we know that budgets and expenses are here to stay, but getting your successful on-line presence with professional and tailored to your business imagery shouldn't be pushed to the sidelines. Think about quality photography as one of your secret ingredients of success.
